This section will introduce you to some of our Doctor's and Staff with a brief informational biography and perhaps a candid photo of them in action at the hospital. We are very proud of each individual on our team who are pet lovers like you.

Meet the Doctors

Dr. Bill Swartz opened Clocktower Animal Hospital in 1994. A graduate of The Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine, he has practiced in Northern Virginia for over thirty years. He formerly was a founder and owner of Old Dominion Animal Hospital in McLean. The Virginia Veterinary Medical Association presented Dr. Swartz with the Veterinary Service Award, referring to him as "the epitome of quality service in veterinary medicine." He currently serves on the boards of the Emergency Veterinary Clinic in Vienna, the Claude Moore Colonial Farm in McLean and the Professional Veterinary Products Ltd in Omaha, Nebraska. Dr. Chris Carskaddan

Dr. Alex Colvin graduated summa cum laude with a degree in Biology from Virginia Tech., and then moved on to veterinary school at the Virginia-Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine. He has lived in the Northern Virginia area since 1986 and currently resides in Ashburn with his wife, Dana and cat, Ash. He worked at CAH through high school at varying roles until being hired as a doctor after graduation.

Dr. Jennifer Miles has just joined the Clocktower family in January of '05. She graduated from Colorado State University and practiced for several years in Arizona before moving to Virginia. She has two guinea pigs, one small dog and four cats.

Dr. Leslie Moore is a graduate of the College of Veterinary Medicine at The Ohio State University and earned an undergraduate degree in zoology from Auburn University. She was affiliated for eleven years with Wheaton Animal Hospital in Kensington, Maryland, before moving to Vienna. Dr. Moore is married to David Brown and they have three children.

Dr. Diane Panopoulos

Dr. Jennifer Schneider holds an undergraduate degree in animal science and pathobiology from the University of Connecticut. She received her VMD degree from the University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine in 1997. Dr. Schneider worked for several years at a small animal and equine practice in New Jersey prior to moving to Virginia in 1999. She resides in Herndon with her husband Mark, two sons, and 2 cats, Miccia and Tivo.

Meet the Staff

Andy (Lead Doctor's Assistant) has been with CAH since September 1997. He currently heads our "Patient Care Team" and has two labs, Fisher and Mason.

Ann (Receptionist)

Ashleigh (Doctor's Assistant) is a Doctor's Assistant and webmaster of the CAH web site. She's been working at Clocktower since May of 2004.

Dicken (Receptionist) is originally from New York City and was an elementary and preschool teacher. Also has worked in advertising and for brokerage firms on Wall Street. Among other jobs -- Admissions counselor for Assisted Living and Admin. Assistant. Two girls, one married, 2 grandchildren. Other daughter is a registered nurse at Reston Hospital.

Eileen (Licensed Veterinary Technician) was born and raised in Philadelphia and moved to Virginia in 1976. She has three dogs and 27 cats. She has worked at CAH since January 200 and has been an LVT since 1990. She enjoys listening to books on tape while traveling to and from work.

Jalynda (Receptionist)

Jean (Doctor's Assistant) has worked here at Clocktower since '04. She has had one year of experience working with animals at another hospital. At home she has a Doberman.

Joe (Doctor's Assistant) has been working at Clocktower Animal Hospital since June of 2002. He has been a technician since May of 2000 and has worked at four other Veterinary hospitals including the Chesapeake Veterinary Cardiology Association (CVCA) in Vienna. Joe has five cats and one dog. Right now he is only a part-time employee because he is going to school full time at George Mason University. After he finishes his undergraduate there he hopes to go on to Vet school.

Katherine (Receptionist)

Mary (Lead Receptionist) has lived in Virginia since 1964. She graduated from James Madison University in 1978 with a degree in geography and spent the next 4 years as an officer in the U.S. Army. Three of those years were in Germany. After her military service, Mary worked as manager and floral designer in the family owned florist shop. She joined CAH in March, 1996, as a receptionist. She has 5 cats -- Rydlyn, Snuggles, Fawny, Cutie and Whiskers and 2 dogs -- Maxz and Lucee. In her spare time she teaches dog obedience at Northern Virginia Community College.

Melissa (Licensed Veterinary Technician) has been working at Clocktower since 2002 when she graduated from James Madison with a degree in Psychology. She graduated Tech school in June 2004. She is now in vet school at the Virginia-Maryland Regional College. Melissa shares her home with her ferret, Nike, and dog, Fenway.

Rebecca (Licensed Veterinary Technician) has been working at Clocktower since '98. She currently is living in Ashburn with her dogs Limo and Bugz. Rebecca plans to spend many years to come as a LVT.

Roberta (Hospital Administrator) our hospital administrator, lives with her family in Fairfax. She brings expertise from previous administration positions. She coordinates our excellent staff and is one of our strongest animal advocates.

Shannon (Doctor's Assistant) has 6 cats, 4 dogs, 2 rabbits, and 2 kids. She loves working at Clocktower Animal Hospital.

Warren (Receptionist)

Wendy (Receptionist/Lab Technician) currently lives in Ashburn and joined the CAH staff in March, 1999. A graduate of Trinity College with a B.Sc. degree in medical technology, Wendy heads our in-house laboratory and also works as a receptionist. She shares her life with a Burmese kitty named Brownie another cat, Granite, and her husband Tom.
