This section will introduce you to some of our Doctors and Staff with a brief informational biography and perhaps a candid photo of them in action at the hospital. We are very proud of each individual on our team who are pet lovers like you.

Meet the Doctors

img1Dr. Chris Carskaddan Dr. Chris Carskaddan, the hospital owner, is a native of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He earned his undergraduate degree from Penn State, and Master’s from American University, and graduated from Virginia-Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine. Dr. Carskaddan and his wife, Heather, reside with their daughter and son and many pets in Great Falls.

 

img1 Dr. Christine Cottey is a Northern Virginia native who completed her undergraduate and veterinary degrees at Virginia Tech. Since 1996, she has practiced small animal medicine in Northern Virginia. She and her family currently live in Arlington.

 

Dr. LewisDr. Danielle Lewis graduated from Virginia-Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine and moved to Northern Virginia in 2007. Dr. Lewis worked for over 2 years at a small animal hospital in Sterling before becoming a member of the Clocktower team. She lives in Lowes Island with her family that includes two dogs and a cat.

 

Dr. Jesper Lorentzen graduated from the Virginia-Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine in May of 2004. Since then he has worked as an emergency clinician in Richmond and Fredericksburg. When needed Dr. Lorentzen covers shifts at Clocktower Animal Hospital to allow the other doctors time off. When not working, Dr. Lorentzen enjoys spending time with his wife, dog and two cats.

 
img1Dr. Leslie Moore is a graduate of the College of Veterinary Medicine at The Ohio State University and earned an undergraduate degree in zoology from Auburn University. She was affiliated for eleven years with Wheaton Animal Hospital in Kensington, Maryland, before joining the Clocktower team in 1998. Dr. Moore and her husband, David Brown, live in Vienna with their three children.

Dr. Diane Panopoulos grew up and attended college in Maryland and graduated from Virginia-Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine. Dr. Panopoulos joined the Clocktower team in 1999 and lives in Leesburg with her husband, daughter, and two Norwegian elkhounds.

Dr. SchneiderDr. Jennifer Schneider holds an undergraduate degree in animal science and pathobiology from the University of Connecticut. She received her VMD degree from the University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine in 1997. Dr. Schneider worked for several years at a small animal and equine practice in New Jersey prior to moving to this area and joining Clocktower in 1999. She resides in Herndon with her husband, Mark, and their three young children.

 
img1Dr. Lauren Taylor was raised in Wilmington, Delaware. She graduated from the University of Delaware and received her D.V.M. from Oklahoma State University. Her husband, Jim, is also a veterinarian and they reside in Vienna.

Dr. Bill SwartzThe entire Clocktower Animal Hospital team wishes to extend our heartfelt thanks and appreciation to Dr. Bill Swartz. Dr. Swartz opened Clocktower Animal Hospital in 1994 and established the exceptional standards of medical care and personalized service that led Clocktower to receive numerous awards and recognitions while under his leadership.  A graduate of Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine, he has practiced in Northern Virginia for over thirty years. He formerly was a founder and owner of Old Dominion Animal Hospital in McLean. The Virginia Veterinary Medical Association presented Dr. Swartz with the Veterinary Service Award, referring to him as "the epitome of quality service in veterinary medicine." He has served on the boards of the Emergency Veterinary Clinic in Vienna, the Claude Moore Colonial Farm in McLean and the Professional Veterinary Products Ltd in Omaha, Nebraska. Dr. Swartz and his wife, Mary Lou, now make their home in Naples, Florida. They have two adult children and three grandchildren.
